Dance Socials
Salsa Sundays:
SalsaStar is holding Latin Dance socials (lesson+practice) at Jungle
Bar in Jaco from 7-9 PM. We ask that you arrive on time if possible
and kindly give a $5 donation (or other) directly to Wendy or Andres
to cover your lesson and practice participation.
Not comfortable in smoky bars
and loud clubs where you can't have a conversation? Would you like
to go out at night but you are not into Jaco's party scene? SalsaStar's
Latin
dancing classes and practice parties
(socials) may be just right for you!
SalsaStar
proudly offers dance socials: practice
parties that allow students to meet and practice their new dance
steps together in a pleasant, safe environment. We have
socials for adults and separate parties for teens and children. We
also have 55 and up events and specific cross-class mixers.
We
offer a
wholesome environment in which the focus is on friendship and
dancing.
There is no alcohol and no smoking allowed at the
socials that are held at the studio. Smokers may smoke outdoors in
the public areas of the mall. if desired. At least once a month,
socials will be held at local restaurants or clubs and naturally
will be subject only to the rules of the venue.
Both singles and couples are welcome. Couples are
offered an optional couples stamp on their name tags, which helps
singles distinguish between potential new friends and potential new
dates. For everyone, our socials, as well as our
classes, offer a fantastic business
networking opportunity in which foreign-born residents, Costa
Ricans, and tourists have positive face-to-face interaction in a fun
environment.
Upon checking in, each participant will receive a
name tag. We start with a formal "get-acquainted" lesson which
allows students from different classes to meet each other prior to
open dancing. Then, the lights are dimmed, the disco lights are
turned on and the floor is open for dancing. Refreshments and a
snack are sold at studio socials.
At least once a month, socials will be held at
a local nightclub or restaurant in Jacó, Hermosa, or Herradura.
Venues who are interested in hosting our socials are encouraged to
